Privacy Policy
Effective date: May 13, 2026 Last updated: May 13, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Racoza Studios (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses, and protects information when you use the mobile game Rubber Ducks! (the “App”) on iOS and Android.
By using the App, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
1. Who we are
Racoza Studios is the developer and operator of Rubber Ducks!. You can contact us at any time at support@racoza.com.
2. Information we collect
We try to collect as little as possible. The categories below are the complete list.
2.1 Automatically collected
- Anonymous user identifier. When you first launch the App, our backend (Supabase) creates a randomly generated anonymous account for you. This identifier is not linked to your name, email, or any other personal detail unless you provide one yourself.
- Device information. Operating system and version, device model, app version, and a coarse country code derived from your IP address (used to determine whether to show the EU/UK/Switzerland consent prompt).
- Advertising identifier. On Android: the Google Advertising ID (AAID). On iOS: the Identifier for Advertisers (IDFA), only if you grant App Tracking Transparency permission. Used by Google AdMob to serve ads. You can reset or limit this identifier at any time in your device settings.
2.2 Gameplay data
- High score, total ducks launched, in-game currency balances (coins, gems, eggs), and power-up cooldown timers. These are stored locally on your device and synced to our backend so progress survives reinstalls.
2.3 Information you choose to provide
- Leaderboard username. If you opt in to the global leaderboard, you choose a display name. This is the only piece of user-generated content in the App. Usernames are filtered for offensive content before being saved and may be replaced with a default name (“Player”) if they violate our Community Guidelines.
- Support correspondence. If you email us, we retain the message and your email address for as long as needed to respond.
We do not collect: your real name, postal address, phone number, payment information, contacts, photos, microphone audio, camera images, or precise location.
3. How we use your information
- To provide the game itself — save progress, restore on reinstall, sync across sessions.
- To run the global leaderboard and apply our content moderation rules.
- To show advertising through Google AdMob, including rewarded video ads that grant in-game power-ups.
- To prevent abuse — detect and act on cheating, leaderboard manipulation, and harassment via our reporting system.
- To respond to your support requests.
We do not sell your personal information.
4. Third-party services
The App uses the following third-party services. Each has its own privacy policy that applies to the data it handles.
| Service | Purpose | Privacy policy |
|---|---|---|
| Google AdMob | Serves advertising | policies.google.com/privacy |
| Supabase | Anonymous authentication and database hosting | supabase.com/privacy |
| Apple App Store / Google Play Store | App distribution and crash reports | apple.com/legal/privacy / policies.google.com/privacy |
When you use a service through the App, that service’s privacy policy applies in addition to ours.
5. Advertising and your choices
The App shows rewarded video advertising via Google AdMob.
- In the EU, UK, and Switzerland, the first time you launch the App you will see a consent prompt asking whether to use personalized advertising. You may consent, manage individual partners, or decline. If you decline, we will still show ads but they will be non-personalized.
- On iOS, you will additionally see Apple’s App Tracking Transparency prompt. If you tap “Ask App Not to Track,” the App will not access the IDFA and ads will be non-personalized.
- At any time you can reset your advertising identifier or limit ad tracking in your device’s privacy settings (iOS: Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking; Android: Settings → Privacy → Ads).
6. Children’s privacy
The App is rated for a general audience and is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided information to the App, please contact support@racoza.com and we will delete that information promptly.
We do not show targeted advertising based on a user’s age, and we apply standard ad content filters.
7. Data retention
- Gameplay data and anonymous account are retained for as long as the App is installed and for up to 12 months after last activity, after which they may be deleted automatically.
- Leaderboard entries are retained for as long as the leaderboard exists or until you request deletion.
- Reports of inappropriate usernames are retained for moderation auditing for up to 24 months.
- Support emails are retained for as long as needed to resolve the issue, then deleted.
You may request deletion of your data at any time (see Section 8).
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have some or all of the following rights:
- Access the personal information we hold about you.
- Correction of inaccurate information.
- Deletion of your data (“right to be forgotten”).
- Restriction or objection to certain processing.
- Portability — receive your data in a machine-readable format.
- Withdraw consent for advertising at any time (use the in-app reset, or reset your device advertising ID).
To exercise any of these rights, email support@racoza.com with your request. We will respond within 30 days. If you live in the EU/EEA or UK, you also have the right to complain to your national data protection authority.
California residents have additional rights under the CCPA / CPRA, including the right to know what we collect, the right to deletion, and the right to opt out of “sale” or “sharing.” We do not sell personal information. To exercise CCPA rights, contact support@racoza.com.
9. Security
We use industry-standard practices to protect your data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) and Row-Level Security on our database. However, no method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. International data transfers
The App is offered globally. Your information may be processed in countries other than your own, including the United States and the European Union, where our service providers (Supabase, Google) operate data centers. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses for transfers of personal data from the EEA, UK, or Switzerland.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top. Material changes will be announced in the App itself before they take effect.
